A (mostly) real conversation

August 28, 2012 at 9:26 am (Randomosity) ()

Me: So, Mom, did you read the article about the Bigfoot hoax guy who got hit by a car?

My mom: Oh, yeah. Wasn’t that sad?

Me: You mean hilarious, right?

My mom: …

Me: … So maybe there’s something wrong with me?

The good news is that the REAL Bigfoot wasn’t harmed.

No, no, hilarity is the correct reaction. My exact words on hearing (after laughing riotously) were, “While it’s a shame the guy died, it’s awesome that that is HOW he died.”

I mean, seriously, when people ask years later how this guy died, they’ll be told “He died staging a bigfoot hoax.” Not everyone can be that lucky.

        That’s true.
So my mom’s the odd one, then?

I must admit, I giggled too. Not as much as when someone pretending to be the Loch Ness Monster got run over by a canoe. I may have dreamt that last one…………

    • lokifire said,

Yeah, ’cause I’m pretty sure that was a submarine, not a canoe.

      • ceri said,

A submarine in Loch Ness would be a bigger mystery than Nessie, unless it was Captain Nemo.

      • lokifire said,

        It’s always Captain Nemo.
